hello everybody.
it's been a while and the cherry has popped. we are all no longer virgins. (kidding) but hey, we've to experiment something new every now and then. since taufiq and I have moved to tumblr (and rachel is still stuck with something that's so yesterday), we have decided not to let the juice go to waste. oh yes, themutineers are moving over to tumblr.

The Mutineers reunited
For the first time in a month or so, Rachel, Chong Aik and I met up! I was looking forward to meeting Chong Aik more because I've already met Rachel a few days ago. We gathered at Clarke Quay before heading to Liang Court for a late meal and some shopping.

The meetup was fun and it did brought me back to the days where we used to just hang out and go places straight after school. Hopefully we could do it more often, before I go back to Perth!
The two pictures above show me working at my desk at The Mutineers' headquarters. It's beautifully decked out in pink. ♥
The three of us...
I was looking into the dustbin. Don't ask why.

A waste of time and resources?
Remember the Singapore 2010 Youth Olympics Logo Competition launched back in August? One of the objectives for the competition was to eventually launch the official Singapore 2010 branding by the end of the year.
The result? Nothing. Out of all 1,856 entries from 44 different countries, none of them were selected. Reason being "that there was no single design that could capture the elements representative of the official logo".

For now, a creative company has been appointed and tasked to to refine the ideas from the logo competition and ensure that the final logo captures the elements representative of Singapore 2010 and its brand identity. The final logo and the brand identity will be unveiled next year.

Look at what I found

Wallpaper from Nature Ray Charles. But not just any ordinary wallpaper. This has embedded optical lights to help illuminate the room. How cool is that?
Obama's new presidential limo

When Barack Obama hops into his presidential limousine after his inauguration on January 20, it might be this brand new rolling fortress that's part car, part truck. General Motors might be about to financially tank, but it's still putting the finishing touches on this real-world tank that'll soon be shiny and bear the presidential seal.
Most of the specs of this car are top secret, but a few tantalizing details are floating around, such as the five-inch-thick windows that are about half as transparent as regular glass and can stop projectiles from assault rifles, rocket-propelled grenades and high explosives. It's also said to be built of a combination of blast-proof ceramics and exotic metals, and certainly won't have a convertible top or sunroof.
While GM's trying to make it look like a Cadillac DTS, it's based on the company's line of heavy-duty 2500 trucks. For a fast getaway, it must have a giant engine under the hood. Because the presidential motorcade typically uses up to six decoy vehicles, there must be a mini-fleet of these behemoths on their way to the White House before too long.

Just like the old days
Remember TM Cher 06 - The whole-school Teacher's Day dedication event?
That event was a legend. The response was immense, and the teachers actually noticed it! It was a one off thing, and something of that scale would probably never happen again; But just for nostalgia's sake:
Here's the link to most - if not all - of the student dedications that we received.
The hype that The Mutineers received then may have died down, but we're still here; Churning out new, random, cool and interesting stuff :D

Prop H8

I have to say, I'm shocked that in the year of a black man becoming President of the United States of America, the nation is once again clashing over Gay Rights. It's like taking 3 steps forward, then 5,000 back.
Whatever happened to National/Community support and respect for the individual? Whatever happened to recognising that all individuals have rights, which should be respected and not light encroached upon?

Don't you just love this ad? When was the last time you said thank you?
When was the last time you said thank you to the person serving you behind the counter? When was the last time you said thank you to your friends, your siblings or even your parents?
A simple thank you can (and will) make someone go through his/her day happier. Say thank you. Spread the love.
Things you already know yet it needs to be announced anyway: Clay Aiken is gay
Article taken right off Yahoo Singapore:
NEW YORK - Clay Aiken is finally confirming what many people already knew: He's gay.

The cover of the latest People magazine shows Aiken holding his infant son, Parker Foster Aiken, with the headline: "Yes, I'm Gay." The cover also has the quote: "I cannot raise a child to lie or hide things."
The magazine has an interview with Aiken and confirmed that he was on the cover but refused to release the article to The Associated Press until Wednesday.
The baby's mother is Aiken's friend and record producer Jaymes Foster.
Aiken, who gained fame as the runner-up on "American Idol" in 2003, rarely addressed the frequent rumors about his sexuality. In an interview with The Associated Press two years ago, he said: "I don't really feel like I have anybody to answer to but myself and God and the people I love."
The multiplatinum singer recently released the CD "On My Way Here" and made his Broadway debut this spring in "Monty Python's Spamalot."
--
I guess everyone has already guessed it, since the beginning. Still, such a pity! I really did think he was cute back in his 'Invisible' days.
On a lighter note, our dear Mutineer, Taufiq, is coming back tomorrow!
